Digital Materials and Collections Research Professional
My name is Tessa Cicak (pronounced "chee-chack"). I am the Digital Materials and Collections Researcher at the University of Minnesota's Liberal Arts Technology and Innovation Services (LATIS) unit. In my day-to-day, I help students, faculty, and staff with their project and research questions. I primarily consult on data organization, digitization, metadata, digital humanities tools, and content management
I also work in the Advanced Imaging Service for Objects and Spaces where I assist with 2D and 3D imaging. I love the variety of projects and requests we receive. Some days I am helping image tiny seeds on a Scanning Electron Microscope, other days I am scanning an entire barn!
My favorite aspect of my job is helping find creative solutions to complex problems but I believe that no research question is too small. I received my Ph.D from the University of Minnesota so I especially love learning about all of the different research happening around the campus.
In my spare time I love hiking and being outside.
